Dr. Farhat was born and raised in Montreal, where she experienced the richness of a multicultural environment. This exposure to various ethnicities, languages, and cultures shaped her unique perspective on life and ignited her passion for mastering multiple languages, including French and English.
Dr. Farhat embarked on her Dental School journey at McGill University with the aspiration of becoming a highly skilled oral health care practitioner. Her goal was not only to excel in her field but also to travel to developing countries and contribute to improving the oral health of underserved populations. Over time, her interest in Medicine deepened, leading her to appreciate the significance of integrating both Medicine and Dentistry to deliver the highest standard of patient care.
In 2018, Dr. Farhat completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at McGill University, graduating with numerous distinctions. Among the awards she received were the Dr. A.W. Thornton Gold Medal awarded by the Montreal Dental Club for the highest overall standing, the Pierre Fauchard Academy Senior Student Award for excellence in academic and clinical aspects of the DMD program, the Prix Aldis Bernard donated by l’Ordre des dentistes du Québec for the highest overall standing in the four years of the Dental program, the Dr. André Charest Prize donated by the Quebec Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for the highest standing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Dr. Gerald Racey Prize for excellence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award, the Dr. A.L. Walsh Prize for meritorious achievement in Oral Medicine, the Prix d’excellence Jean Robert Vincent donated by the Quebec Association for Special Care Delivery for exceptional commitment to Geriatric Dentistry, and the Dr. W.G. Leahy Prize for meritorious achievement in Clinical Dentistry throughout the clinical years.
After relocating to the United States in 2018, Dr. Farhat pursued her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she graduated with Honors. She then completed a one-year internship in General Surgery before finishing her residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2024. Throughout her residency, Dr. Farhat focused on various research projects, publishing work on oral cancer and facial reconstruction methods. She also presented her research at both academic and national levels, covering topics such as maxillofacial trauma, pathology, orthognathic surgery, and head and neck reconstruction.
During her chief year, Dr. Farhat concentrated on the management and treatment of patients with maxillomandibular jaw asymmetries, maxillofacial trauma at Shock Trauma Center, maxillofacial infections, temporomandibular joint disease, and dentoalveolar surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Farhat is deeply committed to spending quality time with her family and loved ones. She frequently visits her large family in Montreal and enjoys road trips across Canada and the US. Her passion for travel extends to cultural trips, where she loves discovering hidden gems around the world.
